We partner with leading regional and international construction firms to design and deliver world-class border infrastructure under modern concession models.
Our projects are backed by robust partnerships with international financiers, ensuring sustainable, transparent and well-structured funding solutions.
From physical infrastructure to advanced ICT systems, our team and partners manage every operational and digital aspect of the border’s performance and reliability.
Through our Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) structure, we collaborate with government to modernise border facilities while delivering long-term value and efficiency.
Chirundu Border Consortium – Zimbabwe (“CBC Zimbabwe”) was awarded the right to modernise the Chirundu Border Post in Zimbabwe on a “Build, Operate, Transfer” (BOT) concession basis. The award was made in July 2024 by power of a Concession Agreement with the Republic of Zimbabwe, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development.
CBC Zimbabwe is sponsored by Safaga, a specialist private-sector sponsor of border infrastructure projects across the North-South Corridor of Africa. Safaga’s vision is to deliver an end-to-end network of modernised, efficient and revenue-generating border posts that unlock trade, reduce transit times, and uplift the communities surrounding each crossing.
Safaga is also the sponsor behind the Beitbridge Border Post Upgrade and Modernisation Project, the principal gateway between South Africa and Zimbabwe and a critical node on the North-South Corridor.
